It seems like everyone is looking for a side hustle, or even a full time job that frees you from the constraints of being stuck all day working for someone else. To paint amazing star ceilings, you are going to, at a minimum, need four colors of glow-in-the-dark paint, 2-3 brushes, acrylic medium, a nail brush, painter’s tape, drop clothes, and backlights. All of which will cost you around $150. You will not use hardly any of you paint on each project. With $50 of paint you should easily be able to do 3-4 full projects.

This is a very difficult question to answer. For established artists who have made a name for themselves, it is not uncommon to charge upwards of $50 a square foot, or even higher. You may also find yourself being flown in to create designs in nightclubs, high-end homes, and other projects. When you are just starting out though, a more realistic rate is around $5-10 a sq ft. Thus, you for a 10×10 bedroom you could reasonably expect to charge $500-$1,000.
Where Do I Begin?
The videos that follow have been created to help you in your journey toward building a successful star ceiling business. Watch the videos and practice the skills. We recommend practicing in your own home first by painting a few ceilings in various bedrooms. If this is not an option, you can ask to paint a few free ceilings in your community. Special needs children are a great option for this, as they love the ceilings and there is nothing quite so beautiful as giving back to one of these very special souls. This is also a great way to get your name out there in the community and in the news.
